Toyota Rav4: More out there

Brand: Toyota

Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi

Role: Director of Photography

Working with Patrick Sisam, Saatchi & Saatchi and Frank in Toronto, Jonah was Director of Photography of a multi-camera crew, shooting across Canada from the Arctic Circle and Quebec to British Columbia. The main deliverable was these three 8 minute commercial documentaries that highlight the lifestyle that comes with the Rav 4.

However, an equally valuable part of the campaign was a series of shorter, informative films that highlight key technological and safety features that come with the all new Rav 4.

Toyota Corolla: Badgeless

Brand: Toyota

Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi

Working as DP on this campaign, we had 20 members of the public testing the vehicle, who thought they were part of a filmed focus group, and between each session, we had to load and unload 8 go pros, A, B & C camera and all interviews, all without revealing to the contestants that they were taking part in a Toyota commercial, and, because it was a national Canadian campaign, we had to do it twice - in English and in French. Mercedes Benz: Autonomous Driving

Commissioned by the commercial editorial team at Monocle, this is a commercial documentary filmed to tell the story of Mercedes Benz’ self-driving (autonomous) prototype. As well as shooting and editing, we also wrote the commercial script.

Bentley: The Extraordinary World of Art

Agency: Harpers Bazaar

Working with Bentley and the Commercial team at Harpers Bazaar, we made this two-year campaign of short commercial documentaries about the Art world for Bentley. Each film was shot in a single day, with two cameras and sound. Although cars weren’t integral to the stories, we were tasked with integrating the cars as seamlessly as possible.

Jaguar: The Ladies of Downton

Working with Jaguar and the Commercial team at Harpers Bazaar, we made this short commercial documentary about the HArpers Bazaar cover shoot in partnership with Jaguar. Although cars weren’t integral to the story, we were tasked with integrating the cars as seamlessly as possible.
